Planned Litters
We choose to keep the number of dogs we have very small, currently we only have 5. Our dogs are considered family members first and foremost. We provide only the best health care, diet, grooming and exercise to maintain happy healthy dogs. Although we do not breed often, when we do, we strive to breed only the best health, temperament and conformation in our dogs by carefully selecting the dogs we breed to. The parents of the puppies are seen by specialists in the veterinary field to make sure their eyes, hearts and patellas are normal before they are bred. They are also clear of EF/CC/DE (episodic falling down syndrome, curly coat, dry eye). We also are including MRI scans for SM/CM in our health protocol. Our puppies are thoughtfully bred and lovingly raised. They are happy, affectionate puppies who will adapt easily to many lifestyles including; active families with children, quiet retired seniors, as well as becoming show dogs who can compete and win. We only have Summer litters as I am home from teaching and I can fully dedicate my time to properly raising a litter. If we do not have puppies available, I will gladly refer you to other equally responsible, conscientious breeders. Health exams and 8-week vaccinations are performed by a veterinarian before the puppies go to their new homes between the ages of 10 to 12 weeks. Prospective families get to meet our dogs when they visit our puppies and they have access to all health clearance paperwork, pedigrees and our puppy agreement. Litter size is usually between 4-5 puppies, but it can range from 1 to 10. Puppies stay in our bedroom with their mom until they are four weeks of age. At four weeks they are moved to a large room in the house where they begin to get accustomed to the daily life of our family and other dogs. This is when the weaning and housebreaking begins.
